introduction: 

The refractive error research center was approved in the meeting of the research council of the university dated 2021 and after approval in the meeting of the honorable vice president of research and technology of the ministry of health, treatment and medical education in the meeting of the expansion council of medical sciences universities of the country dated 2013 succeeded in getting approval in principle.

Aims of the center:

1. Conducting targeted studies and research based on the needs and priorities of the country optometry and vision sciences and presenting the results in the form of reliable documents to facilitate and contribute to the promotion of eye health at the macro level and exchange information with health policy makers in order to provide evidence-based policies

2. Examining the needs of the health system and determining research areas at the regional and national levels

3. Designing and implementing epidemiological, basic and clinical research projects on vision abnormalities

4. Improving the quality ond research done according to valid scientific indicators

5. Enhancing the spirit of academic research in colleagues

6. Publication of valid articles
